So, G-Anime is only a few days away already and despite all the problems that surfaced, I managed to finish everything in time for the con late last week.

Can't wait to see familiar faces over there (just in time for my b-day too!).  It'll be my first time at that convention so I'm anxious to see how everything's gonna be like.

It's already been a few months since I last updated my journal? Wow...Anyhow, Happy New year guys! Hope you all had a pleasant holiday season. May 2013 be a great year to each and everyone of you!  I may have been gone for a while and my presence on DA has been practically non existent for the past year but I think about friends I've made here a lot and wish you all nothing but the best!

So, 2013 year of "serious" cosplay? I say serious because I recently bought myself an overlock sewing machine! (I honestly don't know how I ever lived without it, I'm absolutely in love). And serious again because you know s**t just got real when you whip out the second sewing machine to work on your project.  My living area basically looks like a mini clothing factory --> [link] (I'm usually not that messy!)  I'm a little scared because I have about 15 days to complete this costume before the con, hope I'll make it in time!

This year, I will be at G-Anime (Jan 25th-27th), Anime North (May 24th-26th) and Otakuthon (August 16th-18th) and I think I've got most of my projects lined up for 2013, though I have NO idea how I'm gonna go about to do them for the most part (giving myself challenges, let's see how this goes! If I look a character and the idea of making a cosplay for it makes me cringe, I want to do it!)

I really miss going to conventions (I only went to one last year because of school) and I really hope to see many familiar faces at cons this year!

Wow...Feels like forever and a day since I've been here..which is almost the case...  (Has some things changed around here?)

Too much has happened as of late for me to fill in on everything but as I suspected, school's keeping me insanely busy (amongst other things).  It's hard work and it stresses the ever living crap outta me but I love it.  I love what I've learned and the things I can now do and create.  It's a wonderful school with wonderful teachers and I feel incredibly fortunate to be a part of that establishment.

I must say though, because of that, cosplay's pretty much been the last thing on my mind lately, mostly due to lack of time...I really don't know if I'll be able to attend cons like I've been doing these past two years, only time will tell.  Now, when I get some time for myself, I pretty much sack out! lol  Seriously, I used to be a night owl but now I'm dead tired by 11pm...pathetic...

For the past week though, instead of sleeping, I've been enjoying my Legend of Zelda - Skyward Sword game! (No spoilers please, I'm not done with it!!!)  I wasn't sure at first but I'm liking it more as I play!

I know this is kind of a boring journal update but it had been 3 months since I wrote anything and I felt like showing some sign of life   Sorry about all the comments and messages I've been neglecting and that I'm unfortunately incapable of catching up with all of them but like always, I'm forever grateful for the faves and the comments, you guys are so awesome!

I'll post some pics of my Princess Aurora cosplay (thank you ~DarkWolfrin) and eventually, I'll post some pictures of my Disney World trip from last July (Time. Of. My. Life.). Also went and saw a Disney on Ice show last october, caught some pics of that too, it was fantastic!!

I'm not even sure what to write actually...

I've been feeling a little off lately, some serious messed up family business has my head spinning in every f**king directions and I'm not sure where I should stand...(It's too 'effed for me to get into details and I don't wanna bore anybody with it either.)

Which is mainly why I haven't been on DA much since Otakuthon (I don't have anything to post anyway...seriously regret not taking any pictures of my Aurora Cosplay...like an idiot...).  Anyway, I sound like a downer and I hate this.  It's not the way I usually like to use my journal.  So, I'm done complaining.  We'll pull through, I'll pull through, there's no other acceptable way.  Period.

Good part, school starts Monday for me and as much as I'm petrified, I truly can't wait.  Depending on how demanding school will be, I'll probably have to distance myself from DA a little bit (no big difference as of late...).  That being said, I really have no idea what the Cosplay future holds for me and what I'll be able to manage . I know it's not something I'll be able to quit with the snap of a finger but I don't know if I'll be able to be as involved as I would usually be.  Only time will tell!

I also want to thank everybody who's faved my stuff and commented, it seriously means the world to me.  You guys' kindness has me on my butt sometimes and it deeply touches me.  Thank you again and you guys take care!

Otakuthon 2011 has come and gone like a flash.  It all happened so fast that parts of it are still a blur to me it seems.

Once again, I was forced to overcome my fears and entered the Masquerade. (, , and all the other lovely people in that circle of dear friends can come up with good arguments sometimes...)  I really, truly did not want to participate because I wasn't a Novice anymore and having to enter as a Journeyman scared the ever living crap out of me (because I certainly do not have the experience or the talent!).  But when ~monoxydedazote came over to me during our late dinner on Friday with the masquerade director *jusdepomme....I kinda felt like I had to! lol

So I went to the registration table Saturday morning, entered with my Princess Aurora cosplay and like I had imagined, the masquerade was scary.  SO many talented people filled the novice and journeyman categories.  Fortunately for me, and her boyfriend were in my den in the green room so I had great people to talk to to release some of my stress (Gotta thank Nyan Cat for that too! XD).  I also owe a lot to my wonderful Den dad for constantly having to try to calm me down lol

I felt a little disappointed once the masquerade was over because I honestly did not believe that my costume stood a chance.  But if anything, I had a good time regardless.  Somehow though, the judges deemed my work worthy enough for two prizes O.O Needless to say, I was extremely shocked.  And now, with the major prizes that I won, I'm an Artisan...now that scares the ever living SHIT out of me...

The the highlight of the week-end for me though is all the lovely people that I got to cross path with: and her group, & , (killer Warrior of light!), , , , and of course & (I seriously hope I'm not forgetting anybody!).  Also, I want to thank for their unbelievable kindness.  I am so lucky to know all of these people.  Everyone's kindness toward me is touching and beyond appreciated.  I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

I unfortunately did not get to take an pictures of my Sleeping Beauty cosplay which greatly disappoints me BUT, ~DarkWolfrin caught a few pictures of me before I had to go to the green room so I can't wait to see those!

Double Edit For the Cosplays this Week End!

Ok so...4 days ago I finally decided to get off my ass and started working on my cosplay project for Otakuthon...Monday and Tuesday I did Aurora's dress, Wednesday I styled the wig and made jewleries and today I'm adding the final touches...I need to pack too...To top it all I had an order to make fudge, cream fudge, cookies and a birthday cake...I'm dead lol

I wasn't even sure if I was to cosplay at all this week-end but I'm glad I came through, I know I would've had regrets to not cosplay...

Here's what it's gonna be for the wee-end (last minute decision for friday!):

Carrousel of Progress anyone?  Anyway...

I had a wonderful summer and I hope you guys did too! (It's  not completely over yet so there's still some time left to enjoy if ya haven't! I'm still enjoying mine!)

I'm unfortunately back from my Disney World vacation (I honestly wish I was still there).  Best. vacation. ever.  I tried so many different food (thanks Epcot) and epic treats, took countless pictures, I truly had the time of my life.  Many memorable events happened over there; too many to start listing all of it but one of them would be me chopping off 2 of my 3 feet of hair.  I finally decided that it was time and grew the courage to commit the act.  I had my hair cut at the Ivy Trellis Salon in the Grand Floridian (gorgeous resort by the way) on my first day at Disney World.  I'm still getting used to it...never had it this short in my entire life! lol (I don't even think it brushes my shoulders...)

One thing I'll say about Disney World: I feel like an absolute turd when I stand next to a Disney Princess.  They are so tall and pretty! Rapunzel was beyond gorgeous, Aurora and Ariel too...well, it applies to all of them, really!  They should all be arrested for being that beautiful...I may have felt like crap standing next to them but I was so happy to see and talk to them! And don't even get me started about Flynn not being there, I know the whole story and I refuse to accept it....*grumble* Man, I wanted to meet him, why did he have to leave 18 days before I went to Disney World?!?  WHY?!?

Anyway, when I came back home, I checked my mail and-and I'm in issue 270, August 2011, of Nintendo Power!!!   I can't believe it!!! It's so weird to see my homely mug in a magazine that I've been reading for so long! lol It gave me a happeh!

Speaking of, I'm terribly late with my cosplay project...Otakuthon is in less than a week and I have NOTHING done, NOTHING...and the sad part is that I don't really feel like working on it either...Not even sure what I'm gonna end up doing...I have a lot of things to sort out and think through first.

Anyhow, enough ranting for now.  I really want to thank you guys for all the favorites and the lovely comments I got while I was gone!  I can't possibly reply to every single one of them (came back to 10 000+ messages and I'm not even done sifting through some of them yet) but I really, truly appreciate all of them!

First off, I want to apologize for my lack of presence/response as of late, I've been a crappy "penpal"...   At the same time, I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for faving my work.  It always means the world to me and still amazes me that some people would want my art in their faves...I usually like to thank everyone individually but I can't find the time for that right now unfortunately, which brings me to the reason of this journal.

I've decided to take a small hiatus from DA for the summer.  There are so many things to do, trips to plan/prepare, so many activities and events I am involved in that I honestly don't know where I can steadily fit DeviantArt into my life schedule at the moment.  I love DA but family, friends and summer is more appealing to me right now.  I don't even have cosplay on the brain to be honest...though I seriously need to finish my Aurora costume! (When the heck will I ever get around to do that?? )

I'll come back every once in a while to look at pretty deviations and check out messages (maybe also get around to post some Anime North pictures... ) but I just wanted to give a heads up as to why it might take a little longer than usual for me to reply.  (I will still check my e-mail every day for everybody out there who has my address and would like to get in contact with me )  I know I won't really be missed and that most of the people are busy during summer anyway but I felt like leaving a proper message for my good friends here on DeviantArt.

Anime North was almost a week ago and I'm slowly starting to crawl my way out of the con funk…(plus I caught a cold )  Aside from rotting 1 ½ hour in the hotel lobby waiting for our room key and the absolutely crappy weather, Anime North was fun, like usual.  I ended up having to wear ALTTP Princess Zelda on the Friday (NO ONE knew who I was lol XD) and Peach on Saturday with as Daisy when it was a little warmer outside (it seriously was too cold for me the wear her on Friday like I had planned).

My Zelda shoes left a big disgusting bruise on my left foot…never wearing those again...

The highlight of my weekend was crossing paths with some lovely DA people like
, , , , , , , , and many more!  Though I am disappointed that I didn't get to see some of you, you know who you are…

Also wish I could have spent more time with ~monoxydedazote, ~MoonRosesTeam and Lulu but since they were staff this year, they had very little free time.  I went nuts for the  drink they told me to try at Starbucks though!  I cried when I finished it…it was so delicious!

Now I just need to get off my ass and finish my Princess Aurora cosplay!  It needs to be ready for Otakuthon and I seriously hope it'll look good!

So beside blowing my nose constantly :runnynose :, I've been spending the week with ~KiraLacus at my place, chilling and eating too much plus I'm about to go make a Chocolate Pizza XD (I'm seriously gonna need to work out some, I feel gross lol)

It was Goofy's birthday yesterday (May 25th 1932) and I had a caramel apple (that I made) in his honor!   (Goofy's my favorite classic Disney character and any occasion is a good occasion to bake/eat sweets in my book! )

Okay, back to the subject!

So many wonderful things have happened this week but I'll get back to them in my next journal!  
Anime North's tomorrow and I'm getting the butterflies!  I'm almost done packing, need to double check to make sure I don't forget anything important!  (I almost forgot to pack my Peach crinoline AND my Hylian ears for Zelda…which would have made it impossible for me to wear either costume had I forgotten those lol)

I'd also like to apologize for my lack of response regarding deviations and journals, last minute preparations (amongst other stuff) are keeping me incredibly busy!

EDIT MAY 10th:

So turns out, my computer was back to it's old "randomly rebooting" tricks in a matter of days after I thought I got it fixed so I had to return to the computer shop to see if I could get it fixed yet AGAIN but the problem was far more complicated than originally thought...The power supply wasn't the problem, the motherboard is...and at this point, there isn't much that can be done.

So now, for the first time in years, I am "PC-less" and will have to be for months because I simply cannot afford a new computer at the moment...

I loved my computer dearly and it will greatly be missed.  Good bye Dimension, we had a good run.

EDIT MAY 6th:

OOOoook so, I got my computer fixed and my suspicions were right, the power supply was what went wrong.  Unfortunately, getting it cleaned (cuz apparently I had kittens camping in my tower also), a brand new power supply and other misc. fees cost me $200 so no Rapunzel costume for me this year   I can't even begin to explain how bummed I am about this but having a functioning computer was more important than cosplay...

Been a long time since I (seriously) updated my journal so I felt like catching up some!   

First off, Cosplay!

Because of major events, I’ve had to alter my Cosplay choices for this year.   Number one reason for changes:   I’m finally fulfilling a great desire of mine; I’ll be going to Disney World this summer after well over a decade of wanting to go back (I’m literally pissing myself with excitement ).  Since going to WDW isn’t exactly cheap, I’ve had to make some changes to the list…

Unfortunately, Pit will have to wait a little…The wings and the weapons would have been a little much for my tight budget at the moment so I had to bench him

As a replacement for Pit, I went ahead and let myself be inspired by Disney (influenced by my future trip I guess ) and settled on my favorite classic Disney Princess of all Time: Sleeping Beauty’s Princess Aurora.  The BLUE dress! (She's about 50% done!)

It seemed like a good option because I’ve made a dress before so I (kinda) know what I’m doing but at the same time, I’m putting a lot of pressure on myself because I’ve held that character to such a high standard since I was a very small child.  I always idealized her beauty and worshiped her fairy tale but frankly, I don’t know if I can pull that off!  LoL  I will certainly try my hardest to honor my favorite Princess! (And I’ve had to make my own pattern! Gaah! It’s tough! Lol)

Number two reason:   My beloved computer just crapped on me   It magically booted itself last night while it was turned off (which really had me believing it was a ghost at first lol) and now it just doesn’t boot all the way, it makes this weird little noise and it constantly keeps on trying and trying to boot so I have to unplug it from the wall for it to remain turned off…(I’m thinking the power supply might be the suffering piece but I still don’t understand how it turned itself on though…)

Until I find out how much it will cost to fix it and what the problem is exactly, I have to put Rapunzel on ice (This seriously bums me out… I already have some of the fabric and accessories…I really don’t want to give up this one…)

Though it needs some SERIOUS fixing, I’ll be bringing Princess Peach (because I promised ~KiraLacus that I would Cosplay with her as she sports her Daisy costume for the first time) and depending on the computer situation, my other cosplay will either be Princess Zelda from A Link To the Past that I didn’t get to wear yet or Princess Aurora/Sleeping Beauty.  I updated my Cosplay list at the end of this journal…

I will soon update my journal again regarding upcoming cons and projects but first, I was tagged by ~KungFuHime2009 (8 Things about myself) AND ~Eaglelives (80 questions) but since I did the “8 Things about myself”  something like 4 times already (and I’m running out of random things to say cuz I’m boring), I figured that answering the following questionnaire would kinda count as well.

It’s a actually a nick name that I’ve been using for almost a decade now…

It’s pretty much all the same.  Final Fantasy, Zelda, Kingdom Hearts, Disney…

Well, there’s always the Simpsons but non cartoon would be Chuck at the moment

Umm, Everything? lol  I’m not much of an artist but I certainly wish I was talented at painting and such.

I pretty much like anything (except rap and country).

Not much! Lol I come on DA maybe 2 or 3 times a week.

I can tie a knot in a cherry stem using only my tongue .

I always loved traditional art but it honestly doesn’t matter.  It’s more about the content than the look.  (Something can be pretty till I’m blue in the face but if the story sucks…)

20. What is your favorite fast food place?
I like me lots of Fast Food places XD.  But I guess I’d have to go with Hardy’s…man I dig their Pork Chop Gravy Biscuits…(The blueberry ones too! Oh, god…)

Hmmm…once again, both?  It really depends what I’m in the mood for but I honestly like both my Wii and my PS3.

I’m no lightning speed but I’d say I’m fast.

Pumpkin hands down.  (But I’d also like to add that I would eat any of these pies any day.)

Yes and I love it.

Disney!!!   But I must say that I absolutely adore Virginia Beach, it’s my other home.

Without me knowing yes lol  Some of my friends pointed out to me that my Princess Peach Cosplay quickly made an appearance on t.v once! lol

40. Favorite salad and dressing?
Cesar Salad is my favorite and I really like Ranch, blue cheese and honey mustard yogurt…oh and French dressing too!

41. What do you do to relax?
Play games, watch tv...But most of the time I bake to relax.

42. What is the last movie you saw in the theater?
Tangled   (I don’t go nearly enough to the movie theatre! Lol)

Ground ham sandwich with lots of mayo and honey mustard.

Disney World.

Late evening (around 10-11pm) when I get my late evening snack and a coffee…

Something with cartoons and animation.

Friends and people I love.  I know for sure I enjoy their company so I know dinner wouldn’t be awkward lol

Tim Hortons, Second Cup, Van Houtte… (but I must say that the Vanilla coffee at the 7-Eleven is pretty tasty! lol)  Seriously though, give me coffee and I’ll love you forever, no matter the brand.
